Senior Lawyer, Cricket administrator Nilay Dutta passes away

Guwahati, September 19 (NKTV): Senior Lawyer and cricket administrator Nilay Dutta breathed his last around 2.30 am last night in Karnataka. According to reports, Dutta was in Coorg to celebrate his 46th marriage anniversary.

Nilay Dutta was also a former Indian cricket umpire. He stood in one ODI game in 1990. He was also a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India and an official of the Assam Cricket Association. He was also part of the three-member Mudgal Committee (headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal and comprising former Additional Solicitor General of India L Nageswara Rao as the other member) formed to probe the 2013 Indian Premier League spot-fixing and betting case.
