Regional Inter-School Badminton Championship 2026 Concludes

Modern English School successfully concluded the Regional Inter-School Badminton Championship 2026, a vibrant two-day sporting event held on May 9 and May 10, 2026, at the state-of-the-art courts of the Modern Badminton Academy, Kahilipara.

Organised under the umbrella of the Modern School of Languages, Sports and Performing Arts, the championship brought together more than 250 budding shuttlers from various schools across Guwahati, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, healthy competition, and sportsmanship.

The tournament featured competitions across multiple categories, ranging from Under-9 to Under-17 for both boys and girls in Singles and Doubles events. Young athletes displayed remarkable talent, determination, and discipline throughout the championship, making the event a memorable celebration of emerging sporting excellence.

Speaking on the successful completion of the championship, Mrs. Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School, said: “We are delighted to have hosted the Regional Inter-School Badminton Championship 2026 on our state-of-the-art badminton courts. The energy, dedication, and sporting spirit displayed by the participants have been truly inspiring.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners, and heartfelt thanks to our officials, coaches, referees, parents, and the MES Sports team for making this event a grand success.” she added.

The championship featured exceptional performances across categories, and winners and runners-up were honored at the closing ceremony, attended by officials, coaches, and parents. Experienced officials and the dedicated MES Sports team ensured a professional, competitive sporting environment throughout the tournament.

With overwhelming participation and an encouraging response from schools and parents alike, Modern English School aims to make the Regional Inter-School Badminton Championship an annual flagship sporting event through its Modern Badminton Academy, further strengthening the culture of sports and holistic development among young learners.
