PM Modi takes stock of Covid situation of NE India

Guwahati, July 13 (NKTV): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with Chief Ministers of the northeastern states and took stock of the Covid-19 situation.

While interacting with Chief Ministers, the Prime Minister said that corona virus is continuously changing its form and there is need to keep an eye on its variants.

Highlighting the importance of vaccination, the Prime Minister emphasized to accelerate the vaccination process to check the possible third wave of Covid-19. He also stressed on removing the vaccine hesitancy among people by taking several measures.

Expressing concern over the rising infection rate in some of districts of northeastern states, Modi said that strict steps need to be taken at micro level to contain the spread of virus. He also asked to give focus on aggressive testing and vaccination in the high risk areas. “Northeastern states will benefit from the 23,000 crore rupees package announced by the Centre in view of the pandemic” Modi said. “It will help the northeastern states to create roubust health infrastructure” he added.

The PM also informed that 150 oxygen plants are being set up in the NE India to improve oxygen supply.
