On 4th January 2022, 9th Assam rifles and Changlang district police apprehended one hardcore operative of NSCN-R from general area of Jongsum village. The cadre is identified as SS Lieutenant Salhap Jugli alias Salnang (46) resident of Jongsum village. One pistol with 6 rounds live ammunition and incriminating articles recovered from his possession.
In another incident, on 5th January 2022, one active cadre of NSCN(R) identified as SS Private Bansam Hangphuk (33) resident of Watlom village, Yatdam circle surrendered before Changlang police, Assam Rifles and CRPF at Changlang Police Station.
