‘Carplomacy 4.0’: Modi, Putin Share a Ride After Bilateral Talks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin shared a limousine ride to the INNOPROM exhibition in New Delhi on Friday, shortly after holding bilateral talks ahead of the BRICS Summit.

The joint journey marked the fourth time the two leaders have travelled together by car, adding another chapter to what has been described as “Carplomacy”.

During their bilateral meeting, PM Modi gifted Putin a Russian translation of the Thirukkural, the classical Tamil text by saint-poet Thiruvalluvar.

Modi said the Russian translation of the Thirukkural would help strengthen people-to-people ties and contribute to further deepening India-Russia relations.

The two leaders’ latest meeting and joint journey came ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
