First Oxygen Express train arrives in Assam with 80 tonnes of medical oxygen

The government of Assam has recieved 4 containers with 80 tonnes of medical oxygen by ‘Oxygen Express’ at around 11.45 am on Sunday at Inland Container Depot, Amingaon, Guwahati. Chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday went to recieve the oxygen in Amingoan.

Sarma tweeted “We’re indeed Grateful Hon PM Sri @narendramodi, On behalf of people of Assam, I express our sincere gratitude to the GOI for sending 80 MT medical #Oxygen through #OxygenExpress. This bolsters our confidence & our oxygen stock in a critical time.”

Meanwhile, Assam on Saturday recorded 5,980 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the active cases count to 54,058. The positivity rate is 5.57 per cent.
