Eminent doctor and social worker of Maharashtra, Dr Abhay Bang has been conferred with the 18th Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award-2021 at a programme held at Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar on Saturday.
The award has been given to prominent people every year in the name of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of ABSU. The award has been instituted by Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) and the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) to co-memory the contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.
The award is regarded as the highest award presentation among the Bodo community. The award carries a citation, memento, and cash Rs. One lakh. BTR CEM Pramod Boro, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, ABSU president Dipen Boro, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren Boro attended the award presentation ceremony.
