Bridge collapses in Arunachal Pradesh | Three missing, dumper washed away

Guwahati, June 29 (NKTV): The Sangam Bridge, connecting Pangin and Boyeng in Siang district collapsed due to landslide and heavy downpour on Tuesday morning.

Reportedly, a ten-wheeler dumper truck loaded with boulders was washed away along the brdige. The three individuals in the vehicle also fell into the raging Siyom river. The vehicle and its occupants couldn not be rescued due to heavy rain and dangerous currents in the river.

The missing persons have been identified as Rahul Tamang, Ranjit Sutradhar 21 and Mitingo Boro. As per reports, all three belong from Assam.

It may be mentioned here that in 2000 too, the bridge had collapsed during the Siang flood.
