BCCI Level I and ACA’s Class II Umpire Kamal Krishna Gupta dies of Covid-19

Kamal Krishna Gupta, BCCI Level I umpire has succumbed to Covid-19 today on 15th May at 9.05 PM at private hospital in Guwahati. Late Kamal Krishna Gupta was BCCI Level I and Assam Cricket Association”s Class II Umpire and was also the Vice- President, from 2015 to 2018, Treasurer from 2000 to 2002, Cricket Secretary from 1996 to 2000 , Secretary Umpires Board from 1999 to 2000 and Chairman Selection Committee of Goalpara District Sports Association from 1996 to 2000 and from 2003 to till.

As an Umpire he holds distinction of officiating several prestigious tournament including Nur Uddin Ahmed Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament, R.G Baruah( U-16) Inter District Cricket Tournament and J.K Baruah (U-19) Inter District Cricket Tournament and was mentor for so many young budding Umpires of the State.

He was an Executive Engineer in Irrigation Department Govt of Assam posted at Nagaon . A resident of Shankar Nagar , Beltola, Goalpara who left behind his wife and a 17 years old son he was 54 years old.

Naba Konwar ,President and Nasir Gul Khan, General Secretary Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) are deeply shocked and saddened by the news and paid condolences to the departed soul.
