Australia scripted history on Sunday, June 11 as they became the first men’s team in world cricket to win an International Cricket Council (ICC) world title in all three formats. Australia achieved the feat when they decimated India in the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 at The Oval on Sunday to become the new world champions of the longest format of the game.

Australia missed qualifying to the final of the World Test Championship final by a whisker in the inaugural cycle in 2019-21, but the Baggy Greens made it to the final in the second edition by topping the table ahead of India.

Australia may have lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 earlier this year in India but the world champions came out all guns blazing in the final at The Oval to outclass India by 209 runs. It was a complete performance from Pat Cummins-led Australia as they dominated all 5 days of the contest in London.
