Assam Govt to Provide ₹1,000 Book Grant Per Employee.

The Assam Government is moving ahead with its plan to provide a one-time book grant of ₹1,000 per State Government employee.

The Finance Department has earmarked ₹500.01 lakh (around ₹5 crore) for the scheme, titled “One Time Book Grant to all State Govt. Employees,” for the financial year 2026–27.

The grant will be provided to employees for the purchase of books, as announced in the State Budget for 2025–26.

In an order issued on September 29, the Finance (Establishment-A) Department asked the General Administration (SA-Accounts) Department to take the necessary steps for releasing the allocated amount.
