Assam emerged victorious in the final of the North East Rising Cup 2025 (Under-15 Girls), defeating Tripura by 9 wickets at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground, Fulung, on Tuesday. The tournament, hosted by the Assam Cricket Association with the support of all the Northeast Cricket Associations as part of its continued commitment to promote and strengthen women’s cricket in the Northeast region, concluded successfully.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Tripura managed to post 77 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Anuska Shil (17) and Anjel Paul (15) were the top contributors with the bat. Assam’s disciplined bowling attack kept the scoring in check, with standout performances from Bharati Hassan (3/13) and Baibhabee Das (2/17).
In response, Assam chased down the target with ease, reaching 78 for 1 in 11.3 overs. Dolly Kardong* remained unbeaten on 31, while Swasti Biswakarma* contributed 19 runs. For Tripura, Purba Chowdhury was the lone wicket-taker, with 1/5.
The closing ceremony was graced by, BCCI Apex Council Member Mamon Majumdar, Assam Cricket Association Secretary Tridib Konwar, Tournament Director Romen Dutta, ACA Vice President Rajdeep Oja, ACA Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, ACA Treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa, and the representatives of the cricket associations of Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Mizoram, Sikkim among others dignitaries.
BCCI Apex Council Member Mamon Majumdar praised the Assam Cricket Association’s initiative in hosting the tournament. Tournaments like these play a crucial role in nurturing talent and providing young cricketers from the Northeast with a platform to grow and excel,” he remarked.
