Orange Alert for Assam and Meghalaya | Heavy rains to continue over Northeast
Guwahati, July 5 (NKTV): As per latest reports of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), moist winds from the Bay of Bengal will continue to affect Northeast India and adjoining East India for the next few days.
The weather conditions could worsen the flood situation in some parts of Assam as well as Bihar.
Precipitation is expected over parts of Northeast and East India, at least for the next five days.
In Northeast India, parts of Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are in for fairly widespread rainfall activity throughout this week.
Arunachal Pradesh is likely to face heavy rainfall conditions on Tuesday, while Assam and Meghalaya may witness the same on Monday and Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy showers are expected in Assam and Meghalaya on Tuesday.
The IMD has issued orange alert for the states of Assam and Meghalaya for June 06, while the same has been issued for Sikkim on June 07.
