CWC Warns Against Sharing Photos and Videos of Two Children in Bilas Inn Case
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has strongly urged the public and media to stop sharing photographs, videos and identifying details of the two children of Devorshi Kashyap and Rinika Kashyap, who were killed in the horrific Hotel Bilas Inn shooting incident.
During a visit to the Bharali family in Ichhapurhati, Barpeta, CWC Chairperson Dolly Pathak appealed to everyone to respect the children’s privacy and remove any content already circulated online.
She warned that revealing the identity of children in such sensitive cases could invite up to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of 2 lakh under the law. Legal action may be taken against violators.
The CWC stressed that protecting the children’s safety, dignity and future must always come before media coverage, social media attention and the race for viral content.
