‘Paris Will Soon Be a Muslim City’ : Trump
US President Donald Trump has blamed immigration for the recent protests and violence in France, urging French President Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders to tighten border controls.
Speaking to reporters in Washington on Monday, Trump claimed that the unrest was linked to immigration rather than schools or other issues. He also recalled warning Macron that allowing large numbers of people from across the world to enter France was a major mistake.
“Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon,” Trump said, adding that Europe risked being “finished” if it failed to close its borders and remove criminals.
His remarks came amid demonstrations over soaring prices in Paris and other French cities, where protests reportedly escalated into serious street violence.
Trump has made curbing illegal immigration a central pledge of his political agenda, frequently linking immigration to crime and public disorder.
