Air India Cancels Flights to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah Until October 17 Amid Regional Conflict

Air India has cancelled all flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah until October 17, 2026, citing the evolving security situation in the region amid the ongoing conflict. In a post on X on Tuesday, the airline said it was closely monitoring developments and assessing the situation to ensure that flight operations could resume safely. Air India also announced that affected passengers would be offered a full refund for their cancelled bookings. The announcement comes amid reports of repeated attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi Arabian capital.

According to officials, a second strike on the airport on Sunday killed one person and injured 11 others. A projectile reportedly struck the airport, triggering a fire in a passenger hall. Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority confirmed that the deceased was a Pakistani resident.

The incident followed another attack on the same airport a day earlier, which reportedly killed 13 people and injured 308 others.

The attacks have raised concerns over aviation safety in the region. Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for a series of attacks earlier in the week and warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabian airports and airspace. The group said it had targeted the airport using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

Air India has said it will continue to assess the evolving situation before resuming services on the affected routes.
