Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has issued a warning of a possible major flood in the Budhi Gandaki River, urging people to stay away from the riverbanks and move to higher ground.
According to the authority, a large volume of floodwater may flow downstream from Chumanubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha district.
Residents and people in areas along the river have been advised to avoid the river stretch up to Trishuli Dobhan until the floodwater passes. Authorities have urged people to remain alert and follow official safety instructions.
