The counting of votes for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election began this morning at 8:00 AM.
The vote counting process for the eight assembly segments under the parliamentary constituency is taking place across three designated counting centers:
Dawson Higher Secondary School (Nagaon): Votes for the Samaguri, Rupohihat, and Dhing assembly constituencies are being counted here.
Nagaon Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School (Nagaon): Handling the vote counting for the Nagaon, Batadraba, and Raha assembly constituencies.
Morigaon College (Morigaon): Dedicated to counting votes for the Jagiroad, Morigaon, and Laharighat assembly constituencies.
To ensure a smooth process, counting is being conducted across 14 tables simultaneously in each round.
A total voter turnout of 76.19% was recorded during the by-election. Although 15 candidates contested the election, the main battle is primarily a three-cornered contest among the BJP, Congress, and AIUDF.
