Assam U-16 Team to Tour Baroda for Exposure Matches
The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) will send its Under-16 boys’ team to Baroda on September 18 as part of its initiative to provide young cricketers with quality match exposure and competitive preparation ahead of the upcoming domestic season.
The Assam U-16 team will participate in the All India U-16 Late J.Y. Lele Memorial Invitational Two-Day Cricket Tournament 2026-27, scheduled to be held in Baroda from September 20 to October 10. Assam will face BCA A, Vidarbha, Goa and Chhattisgarh in the tournament.
Assam’s Match Schedule
• September 20-21: Assam vs BCA A
• September 23-24: Assam vs Vidarbha
• September 26-27: Assam vs Goa
• September 29-30: Assam vs Chhattisgarh
The team will be led by Reyan Nandey as captain.
ACA Secretary Shri Sanatan Das said the tour would provide the players with valuable experience of competing against strong teams in preparation for the domestic season.
“Our aim is to give our young cricketers maximum match practice and exposure in competitive conditions before the domestic tournaments begin. These tours will help the players build confidence, understand the demands of competitive cricket and prepare better for the season ahead,” Das said.
