Assam Teacher Rajesh Bordoloi Named Among National Teachers Awards 2026 Honourees
Assam has secured representation in the National Teachers Awards 2026, with Rajesh Bordoloi of Adarsha Tribal Higher Secondary School, Jorhat, Kalbari, featuring in the official list of awardees released by the Department of School Education and Literacy.
Bordoloi is listed as the fourth awardee in the National Teachers Awards 2026 list, which comprises 48 teachers from across different states, Union Territories and educational organisations.
According to the official document, Bordoloi represents Assam and is associated with Adarsha Tribal Higher Secondary School in Jorhat’s Kalbari area. His inclusion brings recognition to Assam’s school education sector at the national level.
The 2026 list features teachers from across the country, including government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and other educational institutions. Among the northeastern states, teachers from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura also feature in the list.
Notably, the list also includes Dr. Manisha Khetrapal, associated with the PM SHRI KV NFR Rangiya, Rangia, under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. However, the official document categorises her organisation under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, rather than Assam.
The recognition of Rajesh Bordoloi marks a significant moment for Assam’s teaching community and highlights the contribution of educators working in the state’s schools.
