Guwahati Traffic Police Issues Diversions Due to Severe Waterlogging at 9th & 10th Mile

The Guwahati Traffic Police has issued an urgent traffic advisory implementing immediate route diversions following severe waterlogging at the 9th Mile and 10th Mile stretches along the Guwahati-Shillong (GS) Road.

To ensure public safety and prevent massive traffic gridlocks, authorities have re-routed Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) as follows:

• Vehicles Entering Guwahati: Inbound traffic towards the city is being diverted at Digaru.
• Vehicles Leaving Guwahati: Outbound traffic exiting the city is being diverted at Koinadhara Point.

Recommended Alternative Route

The traffic department has strongly advised commuters travelling out of Guwahati to opt for the Narengi route to avoid the inundated zones.

With water levels causing significant disruptions, commuters are requested to plan their journeys well in advance, expect delays, and strictly follow the on-ground instructions of traffic personnel.
