Asam Sahitya Sabha to Posthumously Confer ‘Sangeet-Sudhakar’ Title upon Zubeen Garg
The Asam Sahitya Sabha has announced that the prestigious title of ‘Sangeet-Sudhakar’ will be conferred posthumously upon the legendary Assamese artist and cultural icon, Zubeen Garg.
The announcement was made by Devajit Bora, the Chief Secretary of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, during an official press conference.
According to the literary body, the special honor is being bestowed in recognition of the artist’s unparalleled and monumental contributions to the music and cultural landscape of Assam. The formal felicitation ceremony is scheduled to take place in Guwahati on July 30.
