Massive NEET UG 2026 Fraud Unearthed in Bihar: 30 ‘Solvers’ and 7 Agency Staff Arrested

22

Despite a heavily publicized “seven-layer” security blanket, the NEET UG 2026 re-examination in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district has been hit by a major impersonation scandal. Authorities have arrested 30 “solver” candidates caught taking the medical entrance exam on behalf of registered students, alongside seven private biometric agency employees suspected of facilitating the breach.

The Crackdown: How the Racket Unraveled

The massive operation unfolded across four major examination centers in the district: Kendriya Vidyalaya Kiul, Government High School Hasanpur, KRK High School, and DIET Lakhisarai.

The security apparatus raised red flags during intensive biometric verification when photographs and fingerprints failed to match official registration databases.

  • Kendriya Vidyalaya Kiul: 7 impersonators caught.
  • Hasanpur High School: 1 impersonator caught.
  • KRK High School: 1 impersonator caught.
  • DIET Lakhisarai: Additional arrests made following wider raids.

The Modus Operandi: Investigators reveal that the accused were part of a highly organized network that placed proxy candidates into exam halls in exchange for hefty financial payouts.

The Shocking Twist: Future Doctors Moonlighting as Proxies

In a disturbing twist, preliminary questioning revealed that many of the arrested “solvers” are actual medical students currently enrolled in prestigious institutions.

Authorities are currently verifying credentials, but detainees reportedly include students from Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) in Gaya, and several prominent medical colleges in Delhi.

Among those formally identified is Arpit Raj, a fourth-year MBBS student at ANMMCH, Gaya, who is currently undergoing rigorous interrogation to map out the network’s leadership.

Insider Collusion? Biometric Security Under the Scanner

The investigation has cast a harsh spotlight on the private agency hired to manage biometric attendance. Police sources revealed that several impersonators successfully bypassed security gates and entered exam halls despite having “incomplete” biometric data.

  • 7 Agency Employees Detained: Because of these blatant security lapses, seven biometric verification staffers have been taken to an undisclosed location for questioning.
  • The Core Suspicion: Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shivam Kumar stated that digital evidence is being gathered to determine if agency personnel actively participated in a pre-planned conspiracy to compromise the system.

Looking Ahead: An Interstate Syndicate

Top district officials, including District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumar, personally inspected the centers following the busts.

With mobile phones, bank records, and digital devices seized from the accused, investigating agencies firmly believe this is not an isolated local incident, but rather the work of an organized interstate solver gang with roots stretching far beyond Bihar.
