In a massive electoral wave, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its NDA allies have secured a decisive victory in the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2026, paving the way for the party to form the government for the third consecutive term.
According to the final results, the NDA alliance has won a total of 102 seats. The BJP alone has secured a remarkable 82 seats, while its allies — AGP and BPF — have won 10 seats each.
The Congress could manage only 19 seats, while AIUDF and Raijor Dal won 2 seats each.
The results have shattered the opposition’s hopes of forming the government. Celebrating the historic win, thousands of BJP workers took to the streets with drums, dances, and joyous processions in various constituencies. Winning candidates were given warm welcomes by enthusiastic supporters.
The victorious candidates have expressed deep gratitude to the people of their respective constituencies for their unwavering support.
A meeting of all newly elected BJP MLAs will be held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan to discuss the formation of the new government.
This thumping victory marks a historic “hat-trick” for the BJP in Assam, reinforcing the party’s strong hold over the state.
