New Star Club Defeat ASEB Sports by 9 Wickets in APCC
New Star Club registered a commanding nine-wicket victory over ASEB Sports Club in Match No. 05 of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship (Guwahati Leg) 2025–26, played at Judges’ Field, Guwahati, on Friday.
After winning the toss, New Star Club elected to field first and made immediate inroads into the ASEB Sports batting line-up. ASEB Sports were bowled out for 35 runs in 14.3 overs, struggling against a disciplined bowling attack led by Kangkan Talukdar, who delivered an impressive spell of 3 wickets for just 5 runs in 2.3 overs. He was well supported by Bornil Gogo (2/5), Nihal Ahmed (2/8), and Abhilash Kumar Maurya (2/10).
In reply, New Star Club chased down the modest target with ease, scoring 37 for the loss of one wicket in just 5.5 overs. Partha Pratim Kashyap played a fluent unbeaten knock of 20 runs off 17 balls, including four boundaries, while Syed Zeeshan Armand Zuffri and Aditya Roy Choudhury provided able support.
For his outstanding all-round performance with the ball, Kangkan Talukdar of New Star Club was adjudged the Man of the Match.
The tournament, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, continues to witness competitive encounters. Tomorrow’s match will see Ankurjyoti Club take on Young Amateur Club at the same venue.
