These workshops will bring all stakeholders of the PM GatiShakti NMP together for extensive deliberations and result in an exchange of information between States and Central Ministries/Departments.

Background

PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) is a transformative approach that enables integrated planning and synchronised implementation for multimodal and last mile connectivity across the country. It was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 13th October, 2021 with a vision to break Departmental silos in Government and institutionalize holistic planning for stakeholders across major infrastructure projects.

PM GatiShakti has broadly two components to achieve integration, synchronization, prioritization and optimization i.e., development of a GIS based technology platform called National Master Plan and an institutional mechanism to integrate efforts of various line ministries/departments for synchronized development of multi-modal infrastructure and economic zones.

The PM GatiShakti National Master Plan is an integrated platform developed with the support of Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Application and Geo-information (BISAG-N). With over 1300+ GIS layers such as land record, roads, railways, economics zones and industrial zone integrated, the platform is being used by all Central Ministries/Departments and State Governments resulting in faster project planning and implementation, thus reducing costs, increasing efficiencies, & raising public welfare.
