On 14th of March an information was received from complainant namely Lakheswar Talukdar aged 65 yrs of Vill- Puthimari, PS -Patacharkuchi at Pathsala PS stating that some unknown culprits has exchanged his ATM card at the ATM located at Pathsala National Highway point Chariali and afterwards made withdrawal of total amount of Rs 51,000 from his account using his ATM card.Accordingly a case was registered & investigated into.
During the course of investigation with the help of technical input & human intelligence today a Bajali Police team under supervision of Add SP(Hq), Bajali apprehended three numbers of accused persons in connection with the case & recovered total 8 nos of ATM cards along with the complainant’s ATM Card from their possession. Further, during house search conducted at the house of one of the accused namely Sahil Ahmed of Kayakuchi, Barpeta recovered a cash amount of Rs 40000 which is part of the amount withdrawn from victim’s bank account using his ATM card as per statement of accused.
