The official human toll from the ongoing flood crisis in Assam has reached 89 confirmed deaths as of August 4, 2026, according to the latest data released by disaster management authorities.
The casualty figures reveal that rural flooding accounts for the vast majority of the devastation, claiming 88 lives across seven affected districts. In addition, one fatality due to urban flooding was recorded in Kamrup Metropolitan district.
