Rahul Gandhi Leads INDIA Bloc March to Supreme Court, Demands Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation

8

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is leading an INDIA bloc march towards the Supreme Court under the slogan “Chalo Delhi – March for Democracy”, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft).

Ahead of the march, Rahul Gandhi accused the Narendra Modi-led government of protecting Gyanesh Kumar and questioned the extensive security arrangements across Delhi, asking why the national capital had been turned into a “fortress”. He also claimed that around 200 government officials were in contact with the Opposition and sharing information with them.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has agreed to hear a petition on October 13 challenging the closure of Jantar Mantar to peaceful protests. A separate petition concerning the protests held on October 10 and 11 has also been listed for hearing on the same day.

As part of the security arrangements ahead of the march, entry and exit at six Delhi Metro stations—Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road—have been suspended until 4 pm. However, interchange facilities remain available at these stations.
