Pakistani Military Drone Strikes Reportedly Kill Three Civilians in Balochistan

7

Three civilians were reportedly killed and two others critically injured in separate drone strikes in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, according to local sources cited by The Balochistan Post.

The first incident occurred in the Anzargi area of Ziarat district, where a reported drone strike killed a shepherd and seriously injured two other people. Residents said the shepherd’s body remained stranded in the mountainous area, with recovery efforts yet to be initiated by the local administration.

In a separate incident in the Dashtuk border area of Kech district, a Pakistani military drone reportedly struck a vehicle, killing two civilians identified as Shah Jan and Samad Jan.

The latest incidents have added to growing concerns over civilian casualties linked to drone and quadcopter operations across Balochistan. Repeated reports of such incidents have raised questions about the safety of residents in areas affected by military operations and the measures taken to protect non-combatants.

Earlier this month, two men were seriously injured in a suspected drone strike in the Khadkocha area of Mastung district. In another incident in Panjgur, an explosion killed two children and injured three others. Local sources alleged that explosives attached to a Pakistani military quadcopter caused the blast.

A previous reported strike on September 24 in Balicha, Kech district, allegedly killed four young men and injured two others. The victims’ families maintained that the men had travelled to the area for a picnic and disputed allegations that they were suspected militants.

Pakistan has also faced longstanding allegations of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have raised concerns over reports of activists, students and political workers being taken by security agencies without due legal process.

**The latest reported drone strikes have renewed concerns over civilian safety and accountability in conflict-affected areas of Balochistan.
