Needn’t panic, Adar Poonwalla amid Covid-19 surge

Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in China, the Government of India has now again started taking precautionary measures. According to reports, a new strain of Omicron Covid-19 variant named BF.7 has claimed to be the spreader of the new strain.

Meanwhile, Serum Institute of India’s (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla has said that people need to panic so soon but need roam around with caution and should wear mask in the public. Poonawalla said “the news of rising COVID-19 cases coming out of China is concerning”. However, “we needn’t panic given our excellent vaccination coverage and track record.”
