Advocating for total reforms of Assam’s Revenue Administration, CM Sarma asked the department to complete all pending partition and mutation cases in a mission mode by opening a portal, organizing Rajah Adalat etc. within next few months. For that, a mission – Mission Basundhara – would be launched on October 02, 2021, the CM said.

Sarma further stressed on solving all such pending matters within May 10, 2022, which will mark the first anniversary of the present government.

The CM also asked the department to expedite the process of cadastral survey of all remaining non-cadastral villages and to detail survey of lands in 27 districts of Assam excluding the sixth schedule areas. He directed the department to achieve the goal of completely digitizing the land records of the state within 2023.

Issues of inter-district transfer of lot mandals were also discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to draft a new Service Rule of the lot mandals for hassle-free execution of transfer and postings within a stipulated period time.
