India Sends Fresh 11 Tonnes of Relief Material to Flood-Hit Nepal
India has dispatched another 11 tonnes of relief material to Nepal to support recovery efforts following devastating flash floods in the neighbouring country.
The consignment, including medicines, forensic supplies, tents, hygiene kits and sleeping bags, was airlifted to Kathmandu on Saturday aboard an Indian Air Force C-130 military transport aircraft.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar shared photographs of the consignment on X, reaffirming India’s continued support for Nepal under its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India has so far sent more than 130 tonnes of relief material and deployed 54 expert personnel to assist Nepal’s rescue, relief and forensic operations.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s disaster management authorities reported that the death toll from the devastating flash floods had reached 1,410, with more than 6,100 people still missing, as of Thursday.
