IMD predicts rainfall with thunderstorms over Northeast India till 26th March

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted enhanced rainfall with thunderstorms over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal till 26th of this month. The weather department said that isolated heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected to occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal for the next two days, with a gradual decrease thereafter. According to IMD, scattered light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning will continue over these regions including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till 29th of this month. The IMD further forecasted the enhancement of rainfall with thunderstorm activity over Western Himalayan Region from 26th to 29th March. It said that under the influence of fresh western disturbances, isolated to scattered light rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand till 29th March.

On hot and humid weather conditions, the IMD said these conditions are very likely to prevail over Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till 27th of this month.
