IMD forecasts rainfall & thunderstorms in Northeast till Sunday

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heatwave conditions across parts of east and peninsular India for the next two days. Heatwave conditions are likely to persist over North Interior Karnataka, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalseema till tomorrow, April 6. 

Enhanced rainfall and thunderstorms will continue to lash parts of Northeast India till Sunday, April 7. The IMD also said, isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected to occur over Arunachal Pradesh till Sunday with the possibility of very heavy falls tomorrow. Assam and Meghalaya are expected to experience isolated heavy rainfall today. Light to moderate rainfall will continue over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next few days.

Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa till Monday. Meanwhile, in Delhi, the weather department has predicted a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of drizzle accompanied by gusty winds. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius today.
