Heavy vehicles not to ply through Kaziranga till flood situation subsides

Guwahati, August 30 (NKTV): Considering the flood situation at Kaziranga National Park, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed that heavy vehicles will not ply through the National Park till a significant decrease in flood situation is observed.

Accordingly all heavy vehicles including goods carriages will be diverted through the below-mentioned routes with immediate effect.

Vehicles moving from Upper Assam towards Lower Assam shall take cross the Bogibeel Bridge via Dibrugarh towards the North Bank and move towards Lower Assam.

Vehicles moving to Upper Assam that have crossed Guwahati will cross the Kaliabhomora Bridge and move towards the Bogibeel Bridge via North Bank to reach Upper Assam.

Vehicles from Guwahati may cross the Saraighat Bridge, reach Baihata and move towards Bogibeel Bridge via North Bank to reach Upper Assam.

Vehicles from Lower Assam that have not crossed Guwahati shall move towards Baihata and via North Bank, reach Bogibeel Bridge and subsequently Upper Assam.
