Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced the names of 12 Members of the Assam Legislative Assembly who will be sworn in as Cabinet Ministers in the Government of Assam on June 5 at 12:45 PM.
According to the announcement, the legislators to be inducted into the Cabinet are Ashwini Ray Sarkar, Ashok Singhal, Bimal Borah, Biswajit Daimary, Jayant Malla Baruah, Kaushik Rai, Keshab Mahanta, Krishnendu Paul, Nilima Devi, Pijush Hazarika, Dr. Ranoj Pegu and Sushanta Borgohain.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon, marking a significant expansion and reshuffle of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government. Political observers believe the move is aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring balanced regional and social representation in the state administration.
All eyes will now be on the allocation of portfolios following the oath-taking ceremony.
