Delhi Police on Tuesday transferred another case registered against Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka to the Crime Branch, sources said. With this development, the Crime Branch will now investigate both cases registered against the two leaders.

The other case, related to the alleged entry of Das and Ranka into the Jantar Mantar area, was transferred to the Crime Branch on Monday.

According to Delhi Police, on October 13, Das, Ranka, Ajinkya Shinde and 11 other members of the Cockroach Janta Party reached Jantar Mantar by allegedly trespassing through private premises. Jantar Mantar has been denotified as a designated protest site.

Police personnel deployed at the location intervened and attempted to stop the group. All 14 individuals were detained, and two FIRs were registered in connection with the incident.

On October 14, Das and Ranka were sent to five days of judicial custody by a Special Executive Magistrate for allegedly violating peace bonds. Their judicial custody was extended by another two days on Monday.

The transfer of the second case places both investigations under the Crime Branch ahead of the next hearing in the matter.
