Delhi Capitals beats Sunrisers Hyderabad in super over

In a nail biting match, the Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the super over on Sunday.

Winning the toss, the DC skipper Risabh Pant decided to bat first in the slow- spinner friendly pitch at Chennai. The DC were off to a flying start as openers Shikar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw added 81 runs for the first wicket. For DC, Shaw scored 53 runs of 39 balls, Dhawan scored 28, Rishabh Pant 37 runs and Steve Smith scored a quickfire 34 runs of 25 balls helping DC to score 159 runs in 20 overs. For SRH, Siddarth Kaul scalped 2 wickets.

Chasing a target of 160 runs, the SRH managed to level the score with 159 runs, taking the match for a super over where they were eventually defeated. In the super over, SRH could only score 7 runs while going for batting first. Chasing the score, DC won easily. Kane Williamson of SRH scored the highest 66 runs.

Tonight Punjab Kings (PKBS) will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) in the new Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad.
