Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible waste management, Binbag marked World Environment Day 2026 through a series of collaborative initiatives across Assam, reaching students, communities, and institutions with awareness programmes focused on environmental conservation and e-waste management. Binbag collected more than 5 tons of e-waste materials over last seven days as a part of the drive.

As part of the celebrations, Binbag partnered with Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to organise an E-Waste Collection Drive at the NRL Township. The programme featured interactive awareness sessions and student engagement activities aimed at educating participants on the importance of proper electronic waste disposal.

“NRL is proud to be part of this meaningful initiative on World Environment Day. Responsible e-waste management is integral to our commitment to environmental stewardship, and we are glad to see such enthusiastic participation from our township community,” said a spokesperson from Environment cell, Numaligarh Refinery Limited

In collaboration with the Tihu College Science Forum (TCSF), Binbag supported World Environment Day observances through a range of activities including a 1-Minute Reel Competition, Drawing Competition, Street Play Competition, and interactive discussions on environmental conservation and climate action.

“The response from our students has been truly heartening. Initiatives like these go a long way in instilling a sense of environmental responsibility among the youth, and we look forward to deepening our collaboration with Binbag in the days ahead,” said Dr Suresh Bharali, Principal Tihu College.

Further extending its outreach, Binbag joined hands with Dream India Network for an Environmental Awareness Programme at Natun Fatasil Town High School, where students participated in sessions on waste management, e-waste disposal, and environmental conservation, and took a pledge to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
