Guwahati, June 24 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday stated that the Government of Assam will come up with a fresh SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) on June 26, following a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners on Friday.

The CM informed about the same during a party meeting at the BJP Head Office in Guwahati.

Sarma said that the District Administrations will either go by district wise containment or hot spot containment of Covid-19 in the next few days. “The Final decision will be made after assessing the Covid situation in all the districts across Assam” Sarma said.

It may be mentioned here that as many as 220 hot spot zones have been identified by the state government. The CM further claimed that the Covid situation in districts like Cachar, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh has improved and the positivity rate has also dropped down to below 2%.

“The vaccination drive in the last three days will improve the situation a bit more” added the CM. He further stated that districts like Golaghat and Biswanath will be under close watch.
