The Covid-19 situation of Assam is getting more dangerous with every passing day. On 20th April, Assam detected 1,651 fresh cases. The highest cases were reported in Kamrup Metro district, a total of 742 in just 24 hours.
The Covid-19 positivity rate in Assam has jumped to 2.46%. The state presently has 7,685 active case.
The state government has already implemented strict Covid-19 guidelines to restrain further spread of the virus which are to remain in force till 30th April, depending on the pandemic situation.
India on the other hand detected 2,95,041 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. And 2,023 people succumbed to the dreaded virus. The total number of cases in the country has reached 1,56,16,130 and total death toll has surged to 1,82,553. Currently, there are 21,57,538 active coronavirus cases in India.
