Additional NDRF Team airlifted to Barak Valley Amidst Flood Threat

Rescue operations are going on by NDRF across the State

In response to the ongoing flood situation in Barak Valley, an additional team from the 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed to the region. The team was airlifted from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Borjhar, Guwahati to Silchar Airport in Cachar.

This deployment is in addition to the NDRF team already stationed in the region. The proactive measures are intended to provide immediate assistance and support to manage and mitigate the effects of the flooding in Barak Valley. The 1st Battalion of NDRF has been assisting the district and state administration in the flood affected areas. It is undertaking regular flood rescue operations in the State. One such rescue operation was held yesterday in Kandhulimari and Baliram Pathar villages in Doboka and Hojai where a total of 149 persons were rescued included 47 children and one pregnant woman.

The NDRF remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents affected by the flood or flood-like conditions. The teams are equipped and prepared to handle the situation with efficiency and dedication.
