ACA to provide financial aid to former player Pradip Phukan

BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia, along with ACA Vice President Rajdeep Oja, ACA Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, ACA CEO Pritam Mahanta, and former cricketer Sankar Dutta Lahkar, visited former Ranji cricketer and veteran footballer Pradip Phukan at his residence on Thursday to assess his well-being and handed over Rs 1 lakh for his medical treatment.

It is noteworthy that Pradip Phukan, popularly known as ‘Tikori,’ had a splendid career in football and cricket during the 1960s and 1970s. He represented the Assam team in both the Ranji Trophy and Santosh Trophy, achieving some stellar performances.

Additionally, the Assam Cricket Association has announced a pension of Rs 15,000 per month for his lifetime. This initiative was undertaken by ACA at the request of chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma.
