The Assam Cricket Association is going to organise Radha Gobinda Baruah (R.G. Baruah) U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament for the season 2021-22 in Guwahati from December 1, 2021, to December 21, 2021. A total of 41 teams will participate in the tournament.
During the tournament, which will form the basis for the selection of the State U-16 Team for the forthcoming Vijay Merchant Trophy, four matches will be played every day in four different venues in Guwahati – ACA Stadium, Barsapara (Ground 1); ACA Stadium, Barsapara (Ground 2); Nehru Stadium; and Amingaon Cricket Ground.
It is pertinent to mention here that this season of the R.G. Baruah U-16 Inter-District Tournament will also include two teams of the State Cricket Academy, Assam, besides featuring the 39 teams of the affiliated units. These two new teams – President ACA XI and Secretary ACA XI – will comprise players from all over Assam, and would bring more competitiveness to the tournament, besides enhancing the exposure of the young talents.
Moreover, this season of the tournament will witness the affiliated unit teams being divided into two categories – Plate and Elite – based on the results of the last R.G. Baruah U-16 Inter-District Tournament held in the early part of the year 2021.
Rangia will play against Hojai on December 1, 2021 at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, Guwahati (Ground 1)
Bokakhat will play against Nalbari on December 1, 2021 at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, Guwahati (Ground 2)
Mangaldai will face Bilasipara on December 1, 2021 at the Amingaon Cricket Ground, North Guwahati.
Titabor will lock horns with Bajali on December 1, 2021 at the Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
