Amit Mishra’s outstanding bowling and Shikhar Dhawan’s splendid innings guide the Delhi Capitals (DC) to victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 wickets in IPL 2021.
Winning the toss, MI decided to bat first in a slow spin friendly Chennai pitch. But their batting order failed to score good number of runs. MI could score only 137 runs in their 20 overs. For the Mumbai side, skipper Rohit Sharma scored 44 runs innings. For the DC, veteran leg spinner of India, Amit Mishra took 4 wickets which broke the back of the MI innings.
While chasing a target of 138, Shikar Dhawan scored 45 runs, Steve Smith 33 and Lalit Yadav 22 which helped DC to gain victory over the strong MI bowling line-up. For his destructive bowling Amit Mishra was awarded the man of the match.
With this win the Delhi Capitals has reached the 2nd spot of the points table with 6 valuable points, while MI are in the 4th spot with 4 points.
Meanwhile, two matches will be held in IPL today, in the first match Punjab Kings will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai and Kolkata Knight Riders to face Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai.
