Four More Arrested in Tiger Shroff Shooting Case, Including Two Women
The investigation into the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has taken a new turn, with the Delhi Police Special Cell arresting four more people, including two women, for their alleged role in arranging and transporting weapons used in the attack.
The accused, identified as Kunal, Sumit, Radha and Babita, were arrested on Tuesday and subsequently handed over to the Mumbai Police. According to the police, Kunal and Sumit allegedly arranged the firearms, while Radha and Babita transported the weapons to Mumbai and handed them over to the three alleged shooters.
Radha and Babita were arrested at New Delhi Railway Station, while Kunal and Sumit were apprehended in Sonipat, Haryana. Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, are residents of Sonipat. Radha hails from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, while Babita is from Sitapur in the same state.
The incident took place on Sunday evening in Mumbai’s Juhu area, where Tiger Shroff, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, had gone to play football. According to reports, two men opened fire on his BMW car as fans gathered near the entrance of the compound to catch a glimpse of the actor.
The attackers reportedly fired six to seven rounds. One of them allegedly stood just inches away from the actor and pointed his weapon directly at him. However, the gun reportedly jammed when the attacker pulled the trigger, leaving Shroff unharmed.
The actor’s driver and a bystander sustained injuries in the incident.
Earlier, police arrested three alleged shooters Hrithik, alias Roshan, 22, from Bihar, and Rehan, 18, and Phool Singh, 18, from Haryana in Kota, Rajasthan. They were reportedly planning to flee to Nepal.
Investigators suspect that the accused have links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. According to reports, the gang’s alleged motive was connected to Shroff’s association with actor Salman Khan, who has previously been targeted by the gang in connection with the blackbuck poaching case.
According to the police investigation, Kunal had recently been released from jail on bail. He allegedly came into contact with Anil Pandit, a suspected gang member accused of ordering the attack, through a friend from Harsana village.
Kunal allegedly procured a pistol and 20 cartridges from the Amritsar area. Around two months before the shooting, he reportedly contacted Radha and persuaded her to transport the weapon to Mumbai.
On October 15, Kunal allegedly accompanied Radha and Babita to New Delhi Railway Station for their journey to Mumbai. The three reportedly remained in contact through an encrypted messaging application, with Kunal relaying instructions from Anil Pandit.
Two days later, Radha and Babita arrived at Dadar railway station in Mumbai and checked into a hotel. A minor boy subsequently collected the bag containing the weapons from Radha. The following day, the three alleged shooters carried out the attack on Tiger Shroff.
Police sources said Radha and Babita left Mumbai for Delhi on the same day as the shooting, boarding the Haridwar Express from Dadar.
According to sources, Tiger Shroff may not have been the original target of the alleged shooters.
During interrogation, Hrithik, Rehan and Phool Singh reportedly told police that they had initially travelled to Mumbai to assassinate another high-profile individual. After surveying areas frequented by the intended target, they allegedly concluded that reaching the person would be difficult.
The shooters reportedly changed their target to Tiger Shroff after learning through social media reels posted by his fans that the actor did not have police protection, a source claimed.
The source further alleged that the shooters intended to spread fear in Bollywood by killing the actor.
Investigators also suspect that the three alleged shooters were paid an advance of 50,000 and promised additional money and employment in return for carrying out the attack.
The police investigation is continuing to determine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and whether other individuals were involved in the incident.
