Tiger Shroff Was Not the Original Target, Shooters Wanted to Kill Another High-Profile Person: Sources

The alleged shooting attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has taken a new turn, with sources telling NDTV that the actor was not the original target of the shooters.

According to sources, the three accused revealed during interrogation that they had initially travelled to Mumbai to assassinate another high-profile individual. However, after scouting locations frequented by their intended target, they reportedly realised that reaching the person would be difficult and decided to target Tiger Shroff instead.

The accused have been identified as Hrithik alias Roshan, 22, from Bihar, and Rehan, 18, and Phool Singh, 18, from Haryana. They allegedly fired multiple rounds at Shroff’s car on Sunday evening as he was leaving after playing a football match in Mumbai’s Juhu area.

Sources said the accused allegedly learnt through social media reels posted by the actor’s fans that Shroff did not have police protection. They subsequently monitored the Instagram accounts of the actor and his fans to track his movements.

According to a source, the shooters claimed that their intention was to spread fear across Bollywood by killing Shroff.

The attackers reportedly fired seven shots at the actor’s car and intended to fire more, but one of the guns jammed. Shroff and his driver sustained injuries but managed to escape.

Hours after the shooting, a person claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly took responsibility for the attack in an audio message.

The speaker, who identified himself as Anil Pandit, claimed that Shroff had been warned to end his association with actor Salman Khan but had failed to comply.

In the audio message, Pandit allegedly warned that those in the film industry who refused to align with the gang or continued working with Salman Khan would be killed.

However, the claims made in the audio message have not been independently verified.

Sources said the accused were allegedly paid ₹50,000 as an advance and promised additional money and jobs abroad after carrying out the attack. Following the shooting, they reportedly informed their handlers that the operation had been completed.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Tiger Shroff at his residence on Monday and condemned the incident.

Shinde said that intimidation and lawlessness would not be tolerated in Mumbai, adding that the incident was serious and that the actor’s driver had also sustained injuries.

The investigation into the shooting and the alleged conspiracy behind it is continuing.
