India have added experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to their squad for the Bengaluru T20I against the West Indies after Arshdeep Singh sustained an injury to his bowling shoulder during the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

According to the team update, a final decision on Arshdeep’s availability for the series finale will be taken before the match, depending on his recovery.

Bhuvneshwar’s inclusion comes as he prepares to return to the Indian team after nearly four years. The right-arm pacer was recently selected for India’s upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, beginning on October 22. His last international appearance came against New Zealand in November 2022.

The experienced swing bowler has earned his return following impressive performances for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2026, where he claimed 28 wickets in 16 matches at an economy rate of 7.95.

Bhuvneshwar had represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons before joining RCB ahead of the 2025 season. He took 17 wickets in 14 matches in 2025 before producing an even stronger campaign in 2026, strengthening his case for an international comeback.
