CJP Alleges Delhi Police Denied Lawyers Access to Detained Leaders, Confiscated Phones

11

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has accused Delhi Police of denying legal access to its detained leaders and confiscating their mobile phones following the detention of Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde, among others, on Tuesday morning.

Ratna Singh, head of CJP’s legal department, alleged that the leaders, who are being held at Jaffarpur Kalan police station, have not been allowed to meet their legal representatives.

Taking to social media platform X, Singh claimed that the Station House Officer (SHO) of Jaffarpur Kalan police station had refused to allow a lawyer to meet the detained leaders. She also alleged that their mobile phones had been confiscated.

“The SHO of Jaffarpur Kalan police station has refused to let the lawyer meet them, while their phones have been confiscated, raising serious concerns. Under what legal authority are they being detained, and why is their lawyer being denied access?” Singh wrote.

The allegations have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the detention of the CJP leaders and their access to legal representation.

There was no response from Delhi Police to the allegations in the information provided.
